To use Actidose Aqua Activated Charcoal Suspension without a lavage kit, snip tapered tip as indicated on outer package: Squeeze contents into a cup and have patient drink entire contents.
There are 25 grams of activated charcoal and 48 grams of sorbitol in a 120 mL tube.
Sorbitol is a type of sugar alcohol used as a low-calorie sweetener and also found naturally in some fruits; it's been added to this suspension to make it more palatable.
