Use these 100% plastic tubes to collect microliter volume capillary blood samples from finger and heel sticks.
Nonsterile plasma tubes come preassembled with a capillary straw, attached pierceable cap and microtube to help improve the quality of capillary blood samples by reducing hemolysis, tissue contamination and clotting.
Hemolysis and tissue contamination are reduced by using capillary action to draw the blood sample into the microtube rather than trying to drop the blood into the microtube by over-squeezing (milking) or scooping.
Clotting is prevented by having anticoagulant in both the capillary straw as well as the microtube.
Green attached cap designates lithium heparin additive is the additive that is in both the capillary tube.
